A loan of $2,725 helped a member to purchase wholesale lingerie.

Sartasiñani Group's story

The communal bank “Sartasiñani” will begin its ninth cycle in Pro Mujer, as part of the Villa Exaltación Focal Center. It is composed of eight members, and it is directed by a board of directors of which Señora Mery is Secretary. The businesses in which the members of the communal bank are engaged are varied; among them are: selling fruit, a sewing workshop, a paint shop, selling baby clothes, and sewing skirts and sweat suits.

The loan that they are taking will benefit the little women micro entrepreneurs of whom Mery is a member. She says that she joined Pro Mujer three years ago at the invitation of a friend who is a member of the institution. She sells lingerie, and she says that she started this business several years ago upon observing how well these products sell, deciding to undertake it at the fairs in the city of El Alto.

The purpose of her loan is to increase her capital with the purchase of wholesale lingerie, which she will buy in the stores in the city of El Alto and sell later in her retail space. This work allows her to generate resources for supporting her family, as she lives with her partner and has two children.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she says that she likes the health services that the institution offers. In the image there is a lady wearing a blue hat. She is the sister of one of the group members.
