Brima S.'s Group's story

Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT) is very pleased to present to you this team of primary school teachers from the township of Magburaka, in northern Sierra Leone. The group of teachers has come to SMT to apply for a loan of SLL 10,750,000 in order to meet their most immediate and most pressing financial challenges. And at the end of each month, they can easily repay the loan, using their monthly salaries. It is their school’s bursar who is directly responsible for doing the deductions and making the repayments on their behalf.

Brima is the featured leader of this team of teachers. Born in Magburaka town, the 57-year-old man is married to a housewife and, together, the couple has four children who are attending primary and secondary schools.
