A loan of $650 helped to purchase a public transportation car.

Ivo's story

He is married and a father of five children. They all live in a three-bedroom apartment in the Bamenda Mezam Division of the North West Region of Cameroon. He has faced so many challenges in life among which are: the death of both parents, his child dropped out of school because of a lack of finances to cater for his children’s education expenses, inadequate capital to successfully carryout his business, and the ill health of his wife due to a snake bite.

He has taken and successfully repaid his three loans and says with this new loan requested he will add the profit from the previous loans and buy a secondhand car, pay for renovations, and also buy new tyres. He has a positive view of this business succeeding because the area where he wants the car to work in is suffering from inadequate car transporters, and he will be driving the car himself and as such will know how to maintain the car and avoid accidents. With this transportation business, his community will be transported to and from work, he will transport children to and from school, transport farmers to the farm and their output to their house, and also transport his community members in cases of emergency.

With the profit from this loan, he will educate his children without stress, provide their basic necessities, cater for his car maintenance, and also extend his house. He prefers GHAPE loans because of the low interest rate, convenient repayment intervals, and the members are educated on good business management before the loans are disbursed.
