Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $2,000 helped to build a greenhouse.

Tamar's story

Tamar is a 65-year-old married woman from a small village in the Lanchkhuti district. Tamar lives with her husband and daughter. The family has a small plot of land where nut trees are grown. They sell the harvested nuts seasonally. Tamar and her husband decided to build a greenhouse and grow vegetables. The Start Up program, which is a joint initiative with Kiva and Credo, enables her to get a loan of $2000 to build a greenhouse. After the greenhouse is built, Tamar will grow vegetables and will sell the harvested vegetables at a good price. Tamar thinks that the business will be profitable and she is very motivated to work hard and ensure a good harvest. She awaits your support.
