Pek's Group's story

Pek is a resident of Dambae district of Kampong Cham province and she is 47 years old. She is a married mother of one child who goes to school.

To make a living, she does cassava farming as the main source of income. It is business that she has done for a long time and currently it returns her up to 26,400 KHR per day.

For Pek, this is the third cycle loan with VisionFund (Kiva’s partner) and she is a group leader. The positive impact of her loans, which she has repaid with success, has improved her living condition and she can manage to provide three decent meals for her family now.

Now, she is seeking a new loan of 2,000,000 KHR and her joint borrower is requesting a loan of 1,600,000 KHR. As a leader, she will spend her entire loan portion to buy fertilizer and pesticide and to pay for plowing and labor fees for her farmland. She hopes to expand her business and to increase her income.
