A loan of $1,100 helped to buy windows for her future house.

Ana Cecilia's story

Sra. Ana has been part of the San Vincente Communal Bank for six years. She likes this group because everyone has been like family the entire time. Ana lives in one of the surrounding neighborhoods of Victoria del Portete Parish in Cuenca. Most of the people are devoted to agriculture and livestock breeding. Many residents leave the city so that they can work in various business activities, but there are also some who have migrated in search of a better job.

Sra. Ana is 32 years old, married, and has six children (ages 13, 10, 5, 2, and one-year-old twins). Her oldest daughter is in high school and the next two children are in elementary school. Ana’s husband works in the construction sector. They do not own a home, so they currently live at a relative’s house.

Doña Ana raises chickens, guinea pigs, and also has cows for selling milk. In addition, she grows crops for household consumption. She sells any excess that is produced. On this occasion, the money from her loan will be invested in the purchase of windows for her house. This will help her to gradually reach her goal of having a house of her own.
