A loan of $450 helped to buy a milking cow.

Tatiana Marisol's story

Tatiana is doing her first loan with the communal borrowing group San Vicente. It was her grandmama who motivated her to join this lovely group, and she hopes to learn all good things from her co-lenders so she can move forward. She lives on the outskirts of the Victoria del Portete parish, in Cuenca, where most of the population works raising livestock and in agriculture. Many people have left to go to the city to work in various activities, since they also go to look for a better job.

Tatiana is 19 years old, is in a common-law marriage, and has two two-year old children, as well as her second son who is just six months old. Her husband works as a builder. They don't have their own house because they live in her grandmama's house, and share the household expenses with her.

Tatiana does embroidery, which she learned from her mother. Now it is her livelihood, along with the raising of guinea pigs, chickens and lambs. The money from the loan is for buying a milking cow. Her goal is to continue growing her business.
