Paulina's story

Paulina is 36 years old and lives with her husband and children in the District of La Matanza, a peaceful community with a warm climate. The people engage in agriculture, trade, and livestock breeding. This area is located in Morropon Province, which is part of the region of Piura on the northern coast of Peru.

Paulina prepares and sells “chicha de jora” (a traditional beverage made from corn) and beer. Her business is located at her home and she has been in this line of work for three years. Paulina is requesting a loan of 3,000 PEN in order to buy various supplies such as yellow corn, sugar, and other items. This will enable her to continue her production of “chicha de jora”, a beverage that is traditional to the northern coast of Peru.
