A loan of $350 helped to buy more material to make clothing, and increase the amount of livestock she has to sell.

Eduarda's story

Eduarda is 24 years old, single and lives with her parents. She 's from central Santa María. She makes clothing and also has a business buying and selling livestock. She's been supporting herself for the last 4 years. She works from home, making clothing but she also travels constantly to the fairs in Taraco, Juliaca and Azangaro where she sells livestock. Depending on the schedule of each district, she usually works at the fairs on Thursdays or sometimes Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays -- it's very tiring, especially transferring livestock. Eduarda enjoys the financial independence her job allows her as she can help with household expenses and feel useful in society. Her wish is to continue working hard in order to better her economic stability, and as such, be able to have a family of her own in the future. With the money from the loan, Eduarda would like to buy more material to make her clothing and more livestock so she can increase her income.
