A loan of $950 helped to purchase more fashionable clothing such as jeans and tee-shirts for his business.

Amidu's story

Amidu lives in New Kru Town, which is one of the oldest communities in Liberia. Living conditions there are bit difficult due to the high rate of crime, fewer bathrooms, filthy conditions and over-population. But the most interesting part is that rooms are bit cheaper; there is an option to travel; it contains one of the biggest markets in Liberia; and cheaper food.

Amidu is 32 years old, and he and his fiancee are living together. For the past six years, he has been running a shop in the local market selling clothing. He started this business with money from his friends, and he learned this way of selling from his father. He is requesting a loan to purchase more fashionable clothing such as jeans and tee-shirts for his business. His plan is to expand his business and become a big businessman.
