A loan of $575 helped to stock his cafe with soft drinks, natural juices, pastries, empanadas, sopa de leche (a traditional soup), etc.

Leonardo Antonio's story

Leonardo is 21 years old, married with one young son. He is a native of El Sauce a place in the north of the country. He is hard-working responsible and wants to improve himself. In his spare time he likes to be with his son. Unfortunately due to a lack of financial resources he couldn't study a profession and had to work at an early age to help with the household expenses.

Today he strives from day to day to provide a better future for his children. Thanks to his effort and his desire to improve he runs a cafe in his place of residence with products such as: natural juices, soft drinks, a variety of traditional pastries (with names like empanadas, cachos, tortas de piña, picos, dedos, etc.), sopa de leche (a traditional soup) and baked goods. He spends about 10 hours a day at his business offering his product to regular customers and on order.

The objective of his loan is to invest working capital and stock his business by buying pastries so that in the near future he will generate greater income. Leonardo thanks those lenders from Kiva who offer support to people of low resources in poor countries like Nicaragua to enjoy dignified work.
