Al- Bakeel Al- Hodeidah Group's story

Al- Bakeel Al- Hodeidah is a group consists of four women who live in Hodeidah, Yemen. They applied for a loan of 160,000 YER from AL-Amal Microfinance Bank. Saleha is a 37-year-old married woman who lives in a poor area in Hodeidah, and is the leader of the group. She lives in miserable conditions, but she did not give up and started her business four years ago selling ice cream in the street under the sunshine. She started to run her business herself, but the income from this business is very low, and she wants to improve it. Currently, she wants to buy more of ice cream goods and products, but she doesn’t have enough capital. She decided to apply for a loan of 40,000 YER from AMB in order to purchase more ice cream goods and products such as sugar, and tangs to make ice cream for resale. Saleha looks forward to improving her business to provide her family with a higher standard of living.
