A loan of $975 helped to buy clothing, newspapers, candy, and other treats.

Leonardo Marcelo's story

The San Patricio credit group meets every two weeks in the Cuba neighborhood of the city of Manta, a city known for its beautiful beaches which are very popular during every season of the year. It is also known for being a city with an unequaled beauty and many tourist attractions.

Leonardo lives in this place. He is 65 years old. His beloved wife passed away a number of years ago, but he has six adult children from that relationship. He lives with his son and his son’s family, in their home.

Señor Leonardo is a man who has always enjoyed working in order to get his family ahead, and now that he is single he keeps it up. He has a small stand selling newspapers, candies, and other treats in the neighborhood where he lives. He also sells every type of clothing there, although he also goes out to offer the clothing in other places around the city. For more than four years, he has been doing this business, which allows him to earn a living.

He is going to use this loan to buy clothing, newspapers, candies, and other treats. He has been with the credit group for three loan cycles and he likes it because of the help he gets from the group. His dream is to have good health so that he can keep going.
