Kortimi's story

Mrs. Kortimi is 60 years old and married with eight children. She is in a polygamous marriage and lives with her husband in the Koko quarter in the Koutiala prefecture, Sikasso region. She has various commercial activities based on the sale of traditional Bazin fabric, charcoal, and she has also been a dyer for more than 20 years. Her activities bring in adequate income, and she is well known as she receives a lot of customers. To satisfy her clientele and reinforce her business, this lady now collaborates with the Soro Yiriwaso micro-finance institution and this is her first loan request. She will use this loan to buy Bazins, charcoal, and the products necessary for dying (Gala). She buys her stock in Koutiala and sells her produce at home and at the market to a mixed clientele for cash. With the enlargement of her business, Kortimi plans to make a monthly profit of 120 000 FCFA that she will use to reimburse the interests to Soro, meet her own personal needs and invest the remainder in her business. She is counting on the funding from Soro to expand her business in the future.
