A loan of $400 helped buy raw materials.

Margarita's story

Margarita started her business out of necessity, and she enjoys baking and sales. She learned to bake many years ago because it is her family trade. She began to bake and sell bread 20 years ago, when her family had an established bakery. It was closed two years ago because her father was getting old and couldn't work. This was when Margarita decided to bake bread in her home and sell it door to door. She likes this work and the business has gone well. Margarita has many clients. With her previous loan through Kiva Margarita bought cooking supplies to make bread, and now she'd like a loan to increase production because she expects more demand during winter.

Margarita needs a loan of US $400, which she'll repay in 5 months. She'll use the money to buy raw materials, containers and molds that will help her make more bread. She'll be able to better serve her clients during the winter when demand is greater.
