Benjamin Group's story

Mwadawa is a brave merchant, member and president of the Benjamin business group. An experienced entrepreneur, she is 51 years old, married, and a mother of eight children, of whom six go to school and two are married. Her husband is retired.

Mwadawa sells various clothing (pagnes [bright, colorful fabric]). She displays her goods in a shop in commercial area. She started this business 22 years ago with funds from her older sister.

With this new loan she is going to buy 150 lengths of pagne.

Mwadawa hopes to build a nice house and educate, feed, and clothe her children.

Finally, Mwadawa strongly thanks Hekima for their support of female entrepreneurs, who lack access to traditional financial services, especially during this time of conflict in the eastern part of the country.
