A loan of $1,000 helped to purchase flour and sugar.

Ana Azucena's story

Every morning, the smell of freshly baked bread comes from Ana's house. No neighbor can resist buying her products although they find it difficult to make their selections. She bakes simple breads and delicious pastries. She is originally from the city of Chinandega. She is 44 years old and has two children, one of whom she is responsible for. When Ana's father died, he left her in charge of the bakery which has been successful under her direction for 18 years. She has requested a loan to fulfill one of her objectives: to enhance her working capital for the purchase of flour and sugar because they are the basic ingredients to produce her enticing breads. She also has a future goal to achieve: purchasing a vehicle with which she can distribute her product to all of Chinandega and increase her production. Ana is definitely an empowered woman.
