A loan of $2,625 helped a member these women would each like to improve their own businesses.


Tedy Magoha Peace Group's story

Tedy M., age 40, is married with four children (ages 16, 13, 9 and 6). She has a business selling chapatti and pork from her house. She started the chapatti business 4 years ago but only recently started selling pork. She works daily from 6am until 11am. Tedy is able to earn about $125 per month from the chapatti and $333 from the pork.


This will be Tedy's first loan from Tujijenge Tanzania, and she is excited to get started! She intends to use the loan to increase her pork selling business by buying more pigs.


Tedy will share this loan with her loan group, Peace. The group has 18 members. The members of the group hold each other accountable in paying back their loans. In the picture, Tedy is squatting in the front, second from the left in a white shirt.
