A loan of $700 helped to stock up on groceries for his business.

Cristhian Jose's story

Cristhian, who is 28 years old, is married and has three young children. He is from El Sauce, which is located in the northern area of the region. He is known to be hardworking, responsible, and driven to improve himself. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to get a higher education because he lacked the financial resources and had to start working at a young age to help with household expenses. Currently he fights every day in order to give his children a better future.

His effort and drive enabled him to start his own business, a small grocery store where he sells retail amounts of basic goods like rice, beans, milk, bread, eggs, juice, and detergent. He dedicates about twelve hours a day to his business, so that he can obtain higher income in the near future. The purpose of this loan is to invest in working capital and stock up on groceries for his business.

Cristhian appreciates the help that Kiva lenders offer people with limited financial resources in poor countries like Nicaragua so they can earn a decent living.
