Maria Julia's story

María Julia, 53, lives with her spouse and children in the district of Oyotún, which has a varied climate. The local people work in agriculture, trade, and livestock. The district is located in the province of Chiclayo, which belongs to the Lambayeque region on the northern coast of Peru.

She has a restaurant where she makes a range of dishes herself, such as duck with rice, chicken with noodles, ají de gallina (chicken with spicy sauce), and others. She has a considerable clientele due to the good flavor of her dishes. She has applied for a loan of 4,500 Peruvian nuevo soles to buy ingredients for her food preparations. She will then prepare a variety of dishes to offer her clients.
