Fatmata's story

Meet Fatmata, she is in her early thirties from Waterloo2, a western rural area in Freetown. She is married with three children. In 2009, Fatmata established her local snack business. She began her business because she wanted to increase her standard of living. She works at the business from 8:00amuntil 7:00pm, seven days per week. She says that the main challenges to her business are lack of capital to expand her business and transportation.

Fatmata requires a loan in order to purchase more vegetables and cooking oil to expand her business. She hopes that the extra income from this loan will allow her to educate her children and increase her business. In the future, Fatmata plans to expand her business to the higher level.
