Elle's story

Elle lives in Sinkor in Montserrado County, the same county as the capital city of Liberia: Sinkor is well known as the commercial city of Liberia. Elle is 41 years old, married and has six children between 14 and 27 years old who live at home and only four of whom are in school. For the past three years, she has been selling pepper, oil, onions, okra, rice, etc. in the community market.

Elle started this business with the help of her husband and she learned this way of selling from him. She spends eight hours per day with her business and uses taxis most of the time to get her goods to her spot. Elle considers herself as a business-minded woman, and likes her business because it gives her more profit. She is requesting a loan to buy more pepper, oil, onions, okra, rice, etc. to increase her sales. She wants to earn more money to educate her children and to build a house. She appreciates Kiva lenders for their support.
