A loan of $1,050 helped to buy agricultural materials to help her coffee crops.

Victoria's story

Victoria is grateful for the support given by the Kiva investors in alliance with the COMIXMUL cooperative. She paid off her first loan satisfactorily and it was very helpful for her. She was able to buy the fertilizer she needed and pay the laborers for the harvest season. She says that she feels that the support that is given to the community in general and to her in particular through the COMIXMUL cooperative is excellent. The low interest rate that is offered with these funds helps to improve earnings, and access to them is improved. This lets the producer rest and stop worrying and helps to have a better quality of life. In addition, she doesn't have to be tied to selling her harvest to one specific person, but can choose the highest bidder to sell her coffee. One of the things that Victoria likes the most is the project that the cooperative has with women. In addition to the help of the loans, she has access to a community first aid supplies and trainings, medical services, and more. At this time, she is asking for a second loan and hopes to have the Kiva investors' support to help improve her coffee crops for this new season. She will again buy fertilizer, foliar spray, and more. Her goals for this new year are to finish her house which needs re-plastering, paint, and a new ceiling.
