Naziran's Group's story

Naziran baji is a wife of M. A. and lives in the Bund Road area of Lahore, Pakistan. She owes a two-room brick house that she has lived in for the last 20 years. She is the mother of seven children: six sons and one daughter. Her two younger sons and a daughter are enrolled in a local school in her neighborhood. Her other children and her husband work in a furniture-making business. Naziran baji is a housewife and prefers to do household work and take care of her family. She is applying for a loan to buy material (such as wood and wood polish) to expand her family's business.

She is joined in her loan group by a few more members. Razia baji wants a loan to buy meat for her meat-selling business. Shamim baji wants a loan to buy wood for her furniture-making business. Nasreen baji wants a loan to buy seasonal fruits to resell. Shumaila baji wants a loan to buy furniture polisher for her furniture-polishing business.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.
