A loan of $5,350 helped a member to buy hardware stock.

Mt. Livingstone Group's story

Modesta, who is in her late 30s, is married and has two children who are in school. She has been managing a hardware business for six years. She opens her shop at 7 a.m. and works until 10 p.m. daily and is able to make a good monthly profit.

From Tujijenge Tanzania, this is Modesta's tenth loan request. She paid back all of her previous loans successfully and used them to buy hardware stock and open a branch. She used the business profits to buy a plot of land and pay her children's school fees and household expenses.

Modesta will use this new loan to buy hardware stock. She dreams of opening another big hardware store. Modesta will share this loan with her group "Mt. Livingstone," which totals 13 members. The members of the group will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
