A loan of $600 helped buy natural drinks, bread, sweets and candy to sell.

Antonia Gloribel's story

Antonia, aged 53, achieved an acadmic level of 9th grade in basic education. With effort and dedication, she has gotten her son educated as a professional with a law degree, and he helps her economically with household expenses, since she has been a single mother for the last 25 years. Antonia lives with her son and a granddaughter who is 9 years old.

Antonia is a merchant and sells popular local snacks (pupusas). She has done this for almost 30 years, practicing the trade, and as a proprietor for approximately 15 years.

Antonia begins her work very early, at 5:00 in the morning, and continues until 9:00 at night. She will use the money from the loan to purchase products for her business, since she lacks things such as natural drinks, bread, sweets and candy.

Antonia's future dream is that her business should be profitable, permitting her to stock up on the necessities that her customers want, and that her little granddaughter may obtain a good education for her future and can count on having a home that offers her family security.
