A loan of $1,000 helped to buy fertilizers, manure, pesticides, and watermelon seeds.

Francisco Javier's story

Francisco is 39 years old. He is a father to four children and has sacrificed to give them the best. Francisco studied through the fifth grade. He is in a relationship, and his partner works selling pupusas [a traditional snack]. With this she helps out with the household income.

Francisco works in agriculture, a field of work that his parents, who were also farmers, taught him. He has been doing this work for 25 years. This type of work has helped him to get his children ahead. Three of his children are in school.

Francisco needs this loan to buy fertilizers, manure, pesticides, and seed to sow watermelon, which will help him to improve his production and therefore to have a better income.

Francisco’s plan is to keep working and to watch his little children grow up. He plans to be able to give them the best, because it is on their behalf that he does his utmost everyday!
