A loan of $800 helped to purchase fertilizers and pesticides and to pay the rent on the land.

María Consuelo's story

María, 40 years old, only studied to fifth grade. She is in a relationship and has four children, 3 of which live with her and only 2 study. Her life partner works in agriculture because that was the profession he inherited from his father. He plants watermelon and corn. He also takes care of the animals which he says are also a source of income for him and an occupation for the children.

She needs the money to buy fertilizers and pesticides and to pay the rent on the land. She would like her children to study, but above all she wants them to learn to work and be responsible people with their family and other commitments.
