A loan of $875 helped to buy larger quantities of fresh eggs at wholesale prices.

Patience's story

Patience M. is 31 years old, single, and has no children. For several years, she has managed a business selling fresh eggs, which she purchases in the southeastern regions of Ghana and resells at retail prices in villages in her area. Recently spikes in commodity and fuel prices have hurt her business by limiting the quantities of eggs that she can purchase at a time. In order to purchase greater quantities of eggs at wholesale prices, which she hopes to sell at a profit in her area, Patience has requested a loan of $875 and has joined the Diligence Hands Trust Group, which allows members to support each other by guaranteeing their colleagues' loans.
