A loan of $375 helped to buy a larger quantity of ice creams to sell to customers.

Fernando's story

Fernando is 44 years old and lives with his wife and children in the Oyotún district, in the Chiclayo province of Lambayeque region in Peru's northern coast. Here the climate is varied and the people make a living in farming, cattle-raising and running businesses. Fernando makes a living selling ice-creams, including chocolate, strawberry, vanilla, coconut and "lúcuma" (a fruit common in Peru) flavours. Fernando runs the business out of his home. He is applying for a loan of 1000 Nuevo Soles in order to buy a larger quantity of ice creams to sell to customers and to earn a higher income for his family.
