El Salvador
San Miguel, El Salvador / Personal Housing Expenses

A loan of $1,000 helped to finish building his house.

José Gilberto's story

José studied up to Grade 3. He is married and his wife works as a domestic and receives a salary. His two children are married and have their own homes and employment. No one else lives with them and only his wife is dependent on him.

José works as a day laborer. He also raises cattle and farms. He has done this for many years. His children help him economically. He lives 2 km from his fields and he walks there. His wife helps him with the cattle. He works from 6 am until 11 am.

José will finish building his house. The loan will improve the conditions of the house and thus make his quality of living better. He is satisfied with the loan as he can have a better house. José`s dreams are to continue working for his wife and to support his children as they help each other. The loan will help him as he can buy all the needed material at once. With his work and the financial support from his children he can pay the installments of his loan. As long as Credicampo continues to support him he can continue to work and be productive.
