Marisol's story

For many years, Marisol has wanted to study. She desires a better future. But unfortunately, she lacks sufficient money or help from anyone.

One day she said “I'm going to study.” Marisol took account of all that was needed in her house and upon adding it all up, she saw that the children needed more resources for attending school and she decided not to study that year. Marisol thought first of her children's studies. But as days passed, she heard persons she knew speak of taking classes and of new facilities to obtain money for payments.

This year Marisol saw the opportunity and decided to study for a career. She wanted to work in a hospital, since 2 years ago, she had worked in a hospital in the archive next to the emergency room. She saw that in health care, people are needed to offer good service, humility, and a friendly hand. There are moments when people need help from others. One has to look deep inside to recognize that these are sick people with needs and difficulties and they lack sufficient resources.

To be able to do this, Marisol needed to prepare herself, study, and continue her contacts in the health field, if she were to receive better job offers in hospitals and clinics. But she must also continue caring for her children, preparing them for the university, since without a professional title it is very difficult to obtain a good job.

Marisol is grateful for the agreement with Kiva that could help her. With the Kiva loan, she will accomplish an important goal in her personal life. For many years, it has been her dream to finish her studies in health administration.
