Qabil's story

Qabil is a 53-year-old refugee. He is married and has two sons. The family lives in an IDP settlement and earns money from gardening. Qabil has been raising fruits (apples, pears, grape and etc.) for 34 years. He sells them at the local bazaar and gets 230 AZN monthly.

Gardening is one of the most popular professions in Azerbaijan. People have high demand for fresh fruits, and that’s why gardening is so large in our country. People like to eat fruit fresh or use it in preparing different fruit pies and jam.

Qabil needs money for his sons’ education, but his income is very low for this. He applied for a loan of 1,100 AZN in order to buy new garden tools and fertilizers for his garden. He loves his garden very much and does everything to keep it safe.
