A loan of $1,050 helped to buy calves to develop her small business.

Salima's story

Salima is a smiling, peaceful, kind woman from the Shahrituz District. She is a mother to four children. Her oldest child is 15 years old and her youngest is 3 years old. Salima takes care of raising the children. Her husband, like the majority of the men from villages, towns and districts in Tajikistan, left to work in the Russian Federation due to the lack of jobs in the country. Salima keeps her spirits up and devotes her time to her children and her household chores. Now she has more free time, so she plans to get a loan and buy calves for fattening up and reselling. Salima believes in and relies on the kindness of people and that they will help her acquire cattle. When she has cows and bulls, she will be able to sell them at a profit and buy her children necessary items for school. It will also create new economic opportunities for her family.
