Esther's story

Esther is 51 years old and lives in Logan Town, one of the early communities in Liberia that is well known. She is unmarried and has two children who are presently in school and live at home. She stopped her education at grade five. For the past eight years, she has been running a shop where she sells paper tissue, sardines, rice, tomatoes, etc. She started this business with a little money from her susu (daily local savings) and managed to establish this business. She learned this way of selling from her friends. She likes her business because she makes a lot of profit and it keeps her busy. She is requesting a loan to buy more paper tissue, sardines, rice, tomatoes, etc. for her business. Her plans are to build a house and educate her children.
