Silva's story

Silva is a farmer from Goris town. She lives there with her husband, son, daughter-in-law and 4-years-old grandchildren.
Silva's son is an army officer and other family members are involved in agriculture. They keep livestock which includes cows, chickens and 10 colonies of bees. The family also grows 4 nut trees.
The gathered agricultural harvest they sell locally.
Now, by applying for this loan Silva asks financial support of USD 1500 to be able to enlarge the cattle with a cow and a calf. She has taken a loan from local financial institutions before, but because of very difficult financial conditions of her family, wasn't able to pay it back on time. Now, by ensuring that her agribusiness is successful and she is able to provide monthly payments for this loan, Silva has been approved for this loan. She has now been approved for a loan within the framework of a new joint initiative between Kiva and SEF international. The second chance loan program provides loans to people who have a bad credit history and have no access to credit products.
