A loan of $4,375 helped to purchase biodigester for resale.

Sabas's story

Sabas is a middle aged adult in the Gongali Community in Karatu, Arusha region, Tanzania. He lives comfortably with his community, except for one challenge - lack of firewood for his family. Due to excessive tree-cutting for firewood, the village leaders now restricts the villagers to depend on firewood for cooking. This has particularly been possible after TAHUDE Foundation introduced the cow-dung-based biogas systems. Now, Sabas has decided to install one biodigester and has also realized a business opportunity of selling the biodigester/biogas systems to other villagers. This loan will enable Sabas to increase his family revenues as well as benefit many other families to whom he will resale the biogas systems.
