Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Dromo Group's story

Dromo Group consists of four people who live in the same community and are part of the same network of women. They get together each week to meet and receive training and also arrange repayment of loans for those who are due. They sell fruits, groceries, noddles, phone card credits and porridge.
The featured borrower is Mary, who is standing on the right in the photo. She is involved in the sale of pineapples, watermelons, pawpaw and bananas. She is requesting GHS 900 to buy more pineapples, watermelons, pawpaw and bananas. She supports her husband in the management of daily expenses and the school fees of her children. She starts her day at 7 a.m. and finishes at 5 p.m. at night. In the future, she hopes to expand her business and improve the nutritional condition of her family. The group needs a total amount of GHS 3200 to improve their businesses.
