A loan of $850 helped but agricultural supplies and pay laborers to apply them on her coffee fields.

Angelica's story

Sra. Angélica is 35 years old. She has a partner and a son. For ten years she has earned her living in agriculture, growing mainly coffee. She learned about farming from her partner and his parents who have been farmers all their lives. Angélica completed primary school as far as grade five. She is grateful to her parents for their support.

Coffee is a delicate product and if you don't treat it correctly at the right time, you risk losing your whole crop. For this reason Angélica has asked for a loan from the COMIXMUL Cooperative to buy 15 bags of fertilizer and to pay laborers to apply it and look after the land. She also plans to buy 200 cans of coffee which she will use to improve and obtain an excellent harvest in this new coffee-growing season.

Angélica's longterm goals are to expand her coffee fields by buying more land, sow a more competitive type of coffee, and use technology to assess her product. Her dreams are to provide her family with a better quality of life, better educational opportunities than she had as a child, and send her son to university so he can becomes a man of means.
