A loan of $200 helped to buy materials used for making tiles.

Domingo Alcides's story

Domingo, 29 years old, works in agriculture, father of three children with another baby on the way. With the little education he received, he has to struggle to put food on the table for his family, as his wife takes care of household affairs.

Domingo gets up very early to leave for work at 3:00 in the morning to make the materials used to produce tiles, a trade he learnt from his father as a child, this keeps his family going from day to day, and he also cares for his mother and a younger sister; this is why he works so hard. In winter he works growing staple grains, beans, corn and sorghum [a type of grain], as these are their main food, and he sells the rest of the grains in the town square.

He needs the loan to buy materials to continue making tiles, and to grow his business and make better profits which will enable them to be better off financially.

His dream, is that his children will study to a high level and be professionals in the future and be in a better financial situation and have a better quality of life that can get them ahead, expanding his business will bring good profits and he will be able to give his family all they need and at the right time.
