A loan of $1,000 helped to buy manure, seed, and poison, and to buy a heifer.

Raul De Jesús's story

Raúl is 24 years old. He studied through the sixth grade. He has a partner; she works taking care of the home. He has a child, and his mother-in-law lives with them.

Raúl has worked in agriculture since the time he was ten years old. He learned this type of work with his father, and it has served him well to get by. He sows corn and sorghum. Additionally, he was in the army; he works as a security guard with a company. His daily routine is a little tiring. In order to get to where he works, he has to take a pick-up to get to the highway, then he takes a bus to get to the city, and then a minibus to get to where he works. At times, in order to save, he gets up earlier to go by bicycle.

He will use the requested loan to buy manure, seed, and poison, and to buy a heifer.

His dreams are: to buy a plot of land and build his own house, and that his children would study and prepare themselves academically, and to be able to buy ten milk cows.
