A loan of $600 helped to buy more bags of charcoal.

Rose's story

Rose lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is married with 5 children and all her children go to school. She takes care of additional family members (grandfather). She sells charcoal on a retail and wholesale basis at the market. She works seven days a week. She has been in business for the last 10 years. She gets additional income from selling piped water. She has requested a loan of 1,500,000 UGX from MCDT SACCO to buy more bags of charcoal. Her major business challenges include transportation and seasonality. Her goals and aspirations are to own a delivery van to ease in transportation, to sell wholesale only and to build rental houses. She lives in her own house and the family has access to electricity and piped water. Her major expenses include feeding the family and school fees.
