She started her business with capital she received from her husband who is also a retailer. Later, she benefited from a loan from the MFI Hekima and has been in business for 5 years.

This new loan will be used to buy trousers, shirts and other clothing. She would like to expand her business, build a house, feed her children and make sure they get an education. Finally, she would like to strongly thank Hekima for enabling women entrepreneurs excluded from classic banking channels to become self-sufficient, especially in this difficult time after the conflicts in the east of the country.
wilhermine est une brave commerçante et membre du groupe d’affaires «La Merveille», senior entrepreneur, dynamique, âgée de 33 ans, mariée et mère 4 enfants, dont 3 étudient et 1 est encore gamin. La cliente est vendeuse de divers articles et sociétaire d’une boutique. Elle installe sa marchandise dans une maison du marché central de la ville. Elle commença ses affaires avec le premier capital reçu de son mari. Son conjoint, lui aussi est commerçant. Plus tard, il bénéficia le prêt de l’IMF Hekima. Il y a 5 ans, qu’elle exerce cette activité. Ce nouveau prêt va la servir d’acheter des pantalons, chemises, et autres habits. Ainsi, elle souhaite accroitre son entreprise, construire une maison, scolariser et nourrir ses enfants. En définitif, elle remercie fortement Hekima pour l’autonomisation des femmes entrepreneurs exclues du système bancaire classique, surtout; pendant ce moment difficile post conflits dans la région de l’Est du pays.

HEKIMA is a microfinance institution headquartered in Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), with branch offices in Goma and Bukavu. HEKIMA aims to contribute to the transformation of the economic, social, and spiritual lives of the economically active poor of the DRC. To this end, HEKIMA provides its clients with solidarity group loans to support income-generating activities. Despite ongoing instability and violence in its operating areas, HEKIMA continues to keep its doors open and provide credit and savings services for its over 90% female clientele.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
