Durgeswari Shg Group's story

Jema is a 44-year-old lady living with her husband and her three children in a small village of Bolangir district named Sasikela. In the picture, the lady standing with her raised hand is Jema. Her husband works as a farmer.

She formed a SHG named Durgeswari Self Help Group; it consists of 13 members. She is the president of her group because she is a very humble, hardworking and responsible person with good manners and lots of enthusiasm to improve her life.

She runs a betel shop to help her husband financially. She sells pan, chocolates, biscuits, snacks, etc. in her shop. She has developed a very good relationship with her customers in the village. She likes the fact that she can cater to the needs of the people in her village.

She has a plan to make her shop bigger and keep multiple things in her shop to satisfy her customers. She also wants to purchase the items for her shop in bulk directly from the wholesalers, for which she has requested a loan to purchase items like toothbrushes, toothpaste, soft drinks and other small household consumables.
