A loan of $850 helped to buy a sign.

Genesis Rosalyn's story

The communal bank Primero De Abril meets every two weeks in the canton of Montecristi, known for its rich precolonial culture and its nationally and internationally renowned crafts. It is home to the famous Panama hat.

This is where Génesis lives. She is twenty years old and married. She and her husband have a three-year-old son. Her husband works for the local government. She went to beauty school a while back and, in order to contribute to her household, she has a beauty salon in her home, where she offers services like make-up. Her customer base is increasing daily because her work is very good and innovative. She has been in this business for three years and she enjoys her work because it keeps her busy and at the same time allows her to make some income for her family's wellbeing.

She will use this loan to buy a striking sign for her business so that she can attract more customers. She has belonged to her communal bank almost from the beginning and she enjoys it because they are a very united group. One of her dreams is to own a large space for her business.
