Gulzar's story

Gulzar is 30 years old, married, and together with her husband, is raising five children. Gulzar has a secondary education. As the main source of income for her family, Gulzar practices livestock breeding and crop farming. She started this business 10 years ago with 10,000 som (KGS). Thanks to Gulzar's hard work, she currently has 2 milk cows and 10 sheep on her farm. She also has a greenhouse on the territory of her home. She additionally has a 1.5 hectare plot of land on which she annually grows watermelons, cotton, and corn for personal consumption and sale. Her monthly cumulative income is 10,000 som (KGS). For the purpose of further developing her business, Gulzar turned to Microfinance Bank "Bai Tushum." She is requesting a loan to buy high quality watermelon, cotton, and corn seeds for sowing as well as fertilizers for cultivating the land. Gulzar is determined to receive a good harvest which will fundamentally increase her family's capital. Gulzar plans to invest the earnings from the loan in the further acquisition of livestock. She also intends to save money for home repairs.
