A loan of $400 helped to purchase seeds.

El's story

El S., 53, is a widow who lives with four children in the outskirts of Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Since 1993, she has been growing rice, corn, and beans to earn a living and is able to make around US$3 each day. She also gets support from three of her children who are garment factory workers.

Mrs. El S. says that every month she needs to spend around US$30 on food, US$5 on utilities, US$10 on her child's education, and US$5 on occasional transportation. She is asking for a loan of US$400 to purchase crops seeds for the next season.
