A loan of $1,625 helped to widen the sheds for the animals and increase production.

Rosendo Eladio's story

Rosendo is 42 and is the father of a 12-year-old girl. His ex-wife lives abroad with their daughter. He works at raising chickens. He started this job because he had always liked it, and and when he had the opportunity and the resources to do it, he decided to take the initiative. As is the case with all businesses where someone puts in lots of dedication, it is going really well. He works an average of 10 hours a day, which he shares between this business and his job as a taxi driver.

He lives in San Miguel de los Bancos in the "Canton of Love", a canton with a warm, humid climate and with several leisure areas that are often visited by domestic and foreign tourists. The canton has a traditional festival with folk dances and the famous burning of a model castle. People from this canton are very friendly and relaxed with all their visitors.

Rosendo is asking for this loan to invest in his business by widening the bird sheds to increase production. With this new investment, he hopes to improve his income and soon be able to fulfil part of his dream to own his own house. Rosendo is grateful to Fundación Alternativa and to Kiva for the support and the opportunity they are offering.
