Diana's story

Diana, 40 years old, is married and has two children with whom she lives in her own house. Diana works selling regional dishes such as "juanes" (similar to tamales), roasted chickens, meat kebabs (anticuchos), stews, clear soups and others. Every morning she sets up her table in front of her parents' house and sells all these dishes which she prepares with great care, and also sells different drinks made with regional fruits. With kindness she serves her customers, who are mainly her own neighbors and who tell other people about her and in time become her regular customers. She started 3 years ago with a private loan. At the beginning she was not selling much, but in time she increased the amount of meals according to the demand of orders. Up to now she works alone, but at times her sister helps her. This time she is requesting 3000 Peruvian soles. She is very happy to know that she will have the financial support to give her the security to move forward with her business. On the other hand she promises once again to meet her loan payments. With the requested amount she will buy ingredients and inputs such as rice, oregano, eggs, fish and the other products she uses to prepare regional dishes.
