Resty's story

Resty lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is married with five children, two of her children go to school. She has no additional family members. She sells charcoal at the market on a retail and wholesale basis. She works seven days a week. She has been in this business for the last two years. She has requested a loan of Ugandan shillings 1,200,000 from MCDT – SACCO to buy bags of charcoal. Her major challenges include transportation and seasonality, which hinder her movements. Her goal and aspiration is to buy a van for transporting charcoal to the market. She lives in a rented house and the family has access to piped water and electricity. Resty’s major expenses include food, power and school fees.
